Bedales students help at South Downs Green Fair

By Graham Banks, Head of Outreach

For the second year, Bedales helped out in the children’s tent at last Sunday’s South Downs Green Fair. Nine students helped with face painting and costume making during the day in preparation for the big parade. The theme was ‘One Green Planet’ and Diana Ensor (former student and parent) had constructed an enormous globe, so big it had to be driven over in a lorry. This led the parade and was followed by smaller willow and tissue heavenly bodies previously made at school and a mass of highly decorated small children. Fortunately the fair coincided with the one really lovely day in the last month and was a huge and crowded success. We hope our annual involvement in this major local event will become embedded as a long lasting part of life at Bedales. View photos.
