Block 4s win £3,000 for Chestnut Tree House

This year Block 4 took part in the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI). In this competition, Block 4 split into groups and chose different grass root charities from the local area. The groups then had to meet the charities and make a presentation to their individual classes. From these presentations, teachers chose six groups, on their presentations and efforts only, to take part in the YPI final to win £3,000 for their respective charities. All the presentations had a lot of effort put into them, but in the end, the charity that won was Chestnut Tree House with the group Amy Lock, Becky Grubb, Archie Graves and Josie Parker. Even though there was only one winner, all the groups did very well and even those who didn’t make it to the final formed strong bonds with the charities they looked at.
