Students help Stonepillow secure £3,000 funding

A group of Block 4s has successfully campaigned to secure £3,000 for local homeless charity, Stonepillow. The students won the cheque for the charity at the final of this year’s Youth & Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) which was a culmination of a process that involved the students researching charities and working as a team to act as ambassadors for their chosen charity. As well as Stonepillow, six other local charities (Footprints; Rosemary Foundation; Bereavement Counselling Charity; Naomi House; The Rowans Hospice and PALs) were represented by groups of students. The groups competed in several rounds receiving feedback from their peers and teachers before presenting their case for funding at the final in front of Managing Head of the Senior School, Dominic Oliver, Assistant Head Katie McBride, Deputy Head Girl Freya Deane, Head Boy Rufus Rock and one of the previous YPI finalists, Bea Jarvis.
