Bedales first ‘swishing’ event

Over the past few weeks Bedales Green Team has been focused on new, more creative ways of bringing about environmental awareness in the student body. This week we will have our first ‘swishing’ event where the community will bring all their old, reusable clothes to the Quad for a big swap and recycle event to encourage people to think about the frequency at which they buy clothes and the significance of things that no longer mean much to them but may to other people. Bedales has always been a place that encompasses all different styles; someone’s old clothes may be part of another’s individual image, making a ‘swish’ of trading clothes perfect. Moreover, all the unwanted clothes will be donated to the charity TRAID which is a significant supporter of ethicality within the clothing industry.
