Visit of touring Russian quartet

Russian quartet

Peter Thackrey took five students learning Russian to Steep Church on 14 May to see a Russian singing quartet named Lyra who were on a UK tour. The quartet had joined Bedales students for supper in the Dining Hall the night before to talk with Bedales students about Russia. They enjoyed their tour of the school and thought the library was like something from Harry Potter. The concert itself consisted of many Russian and French folk songs, with some comedic aspects here and there and the quality was first class. It was a very enjoyable evening and served as an opportunity to learn more about Russia and its very rich culture from people who actually live there!
